JUST ANNOUNCED! OFFICIAL SELECTION OF THE 2012 PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL! MARCH 29 – AUGUST 5!

 

Noah Engh is a 23 year-old musician who is among the hard-living niche of truly independent, D.I.Y. (“do it yourself”) artists who book, promote, perform, and travel to each of their shows without any outside assistance.

At the time of filming, Engh has been booking shows, promoting and touring almost 365 days a year for three years, averaging approximately 220 shows annually. This is a rare feat for any band, but Engh, a.k.a. The Kid Fantastic, is a one-man-band. While touring bands can divide the day to day tasks and share driving responsibilities, The Kid’s rhythm section consists of one custom-made “electric shoe”, good only for stomping out the lonesome rhythm of the road as he chases his dream across the country.

My Caddy Won’t Let me explores the life of Engh, a colorful character of unique ambition, who presents a candid conversation on the challenges that face independent touring musicians.

This is the life of an independent musician. There is no record label support or corporate sponsorship, but there are a lot of beer-soaked nights that lead to sweat-soaked mornings waking up on unfamiliar floors and couches. My Caddy Won’t Let Me shows the reality of the road to rock stardom and the life that is lived by few, but romanticized by many.

This film will make you appreciate your day job.

Enter, Family House: a local charity that provides not only affordable long term housing, but the strength of a community, and a sense of inspiration and hope to all who seek refuge under their roof. “Family House” offers a glimpse of this very unique charity, the people that make it special, and the community that makes it possible.
