Function v. Emotion

Featured film of the 2011 Donate Life Hollywood Online Film Festival! Pittsburgh’s Bodiography Contemporary Ballet unites the worlds of art and medicine in their full length ballet, “HEART: Function v. Emotion.” Full length theme ballets are rare, but no more than “HEART” which places professional dancers along side real-life cardiologists and transplant patients in perhaps the world’s only ballet focused on raising awareness about organ donation and transplantation, and heart disease. “Function v. Emotion” explores the coming together of the seemingly dissimilar worlds of medical science (function) and dance (emotion), and the unexpected emotional reawakening experienced by the transplant patients involved.
